The Commission on the Accreditation of
Programs in Applied and Clinical Sociology

The CAPACS Annual Board Meeting will be Convened in August 2024 at the ASA Annual Meeting in Montréal, Canada.

The Commission will convene the 2024 Annual CAPACS Board Meeting on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 6:30 to 10:30 PM, at the Palais des Congrés de Montréal, Level 5, Conference Room 525A, at the 119th Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association (ASA) in Montréal, Canada. This signals a return to the longstanding practice of convening the Commission’s annual meeting at the conference site of the American Sociological Association and follows a four-year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2024 ASA conference theme is "Intersectional Solidarities: Building Communities of Hope, Justice, and Joy". The Commission's presence at ASA provides a valuable opportunity to dialog and discuss the value and benefits of CAPACS accreditation with ASA conference attendees, prospective programs, and the public-at-large. Commissioners are encouraged to attend the CAPACS Annual Board Meeting in-person. A simultaneous Zoom videoconference will be arranged for Board members who indicate they are unable to travel to Montréal.
